Under The Oaks Bluegrass Festival:
May 12-14
The Shaddia Shriners present the 2011 Under the Oaks
Bluegrass Festival. There will be a great line-up of bands
to make this year's festival a big success.
Don't
miss the BBQ cook-off! New this year! You will enjoy the
best bluegrass music for 3 days with loads of great BBQ
being cooked, served and competing to see who makes the Best
BBQ around.
MC's for this year will again be Dr.
Shane Collins from WPAP-FM 92.5 radio, Wayne Gentry and
Jerry Tabatt of WMBB-TV 13.
The festival hours are:
Thursday evening, 5:00 pm til 11:00 pm, Friday evening, 5:00
pm til 11:00 pm with a late night Jam and Saturday from
10:00am til 11:00 pm.
Admission is $25.00 for all 3
days or $10.00 per day. Children 10 -18 are $10.00 for all 3
days or $5.00 per day. Children under 10 are free. No
coolers are allowed in the festival.
SuperCup of Watercross: :
May 14-15
Don't miss all the action as the SuperCup of Watercross hits
the waters of the Gulf of Mexico! Event starts as 8am till ?
Located behind Boardwalk Beach Resort.
Similar to
motocross on the water, closed course racing is handle
bar-to-handle bar competition that pits rider and machine in
a personal watercraft battlefield. Reaching top speeds of
over 75 mph, closed course-racing features a buoy-marked,
1/2- to 3/4-mile track that is designed to keep the
competition tight and fans close to the action.

International Surf Day:
June 19
International Surfing
Day, held annually on or near the date of the summer
solstice usually June 20 (21 June on leap years) is
an unofficial, environmentally-conscious
sports-centered holiday that celebrates the sport of
surfing, the surfing lifestyle and the
sustainability of ocean resources.
INTERNATIONAL SURF DAY- BEACH PARTY - Paradise Grill
& Cantina Open with BBQ, Burgers, Seafood & the
beach's only beach side taco & margarita bar.
Beach Opens with Paddle Boards, Jet Ski's, Parasail,
Kayaks, Volleyball& Banana Boat Rides are all
available or bring your own board or watercraft of
choice.
DJ Beach House kicks off the day with a Beach Clean
up!
Paddle Out & Prayer for Clean Water - bring your
vessel of choice to paddle out with us - raft,
board, floaties
6:30pm - Nothing Short of Pure
Bring a beach blanket, surf, paddle, skim or any
other type of board, kayak,boat or watercraft to our
beach and celebrate one of mother earth's greatest
gifts. If you don't have a board, our friends on the
beach are now offering paddle boards for rent as
well!

Bay Point Invitational Billfish Tournament:
July 6-10
Preparations are well underway for the 2011
Bay Point Invitational Billfish Tournament,
and expectations are high. No stranger to
Big Fish, the Bay Point Invitational is home
to both the first and second place Florida
State Record Blue Marlin. Who else can match
that?
2011 will also see the
triumphant return of Weighed Blue Marlin and
the addition of a Weighed Swordfish
division. These two categories will add a
whole new level of excitement to an already
action-packed weigh in and the lucky angler
bringing in the heaviest Blue Marlin will be
crowned Tournament Champion.
But
let's not forget the 40/40 Shootout! Now in
its third year, this popular "Tournament
within a Tournament" will return virtually
unchanged and takes center stage for Friday
night weigh in. Fishing for Tuna, Wahoo and
Dolphin, the 40/40 is open to all boats
under 40' in length and is perfect for
anglers who are new to competitive fishing.
